About

On the occasion of our new exhibition 'The Last Caravaggio', join Andrew Maginley, lute and theorbo player, together with contralto Emma Curtis, for a celebration of music from the time of Caravaggio. This free concert will showcase some of the most beautiful and poignant musical compositions from early 17th-century Italy.

Songs for solo voice and lute with expressive melodies and moving lyrics give voice to the myriad emotions and human experiences, ranging from love and longing, to sorrow and resilience.

The concert features music for voice and continuo from Monteverdi, Caccini, and D’India, and lute and theorbo music of Kapsberger.
