About

Room 34 presents some of the most iconic landscapes, portraits and seascapes by British artists of the 18th and 19th centuries, alongside works that inspired them.

For this special performance, students from the Electronic and Produced Music Department at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama have selected paintings as a source of inspiration for new and original compositions with a string quartet at their heart.

Their contemporary writing will guide you on a musical path through our collection of British paintings in a programme of short performances, creating a unique sensory experience and encouraging you to connect with these paintings in new and unexpected ways.
